Voice Services Terms
These terms apply to Epcotec voice and IP telephony services in the United States and Canada from the date they are contracted, and supplement the Terms of Use.
Template version · in force from the first voice service order1. Scope
These terms govern hosted IP telephony services provided by Epcotec: numbers, SIP trunking, IVR, queues, call recording, porting and associated management. The contracting entity is the Epcotec entity named on your service order.
2. Emergency calls (E911/911) — limitations you must understand
VoIP emergency calling differs from traditional telephone service. Emergency calls may fail during a power or internet outage, after a move of equipment to another address, or where location is not registered. You must keep the registered service address for every number accurate at all times and inform every user that emergency calling depends on power and connectivity. Epcotec configures and maintains E911 records to carrier requirements, but no VoIP provider can guarantee emergency calling equivalence to legacy wireline service.
3. Acceptable use
The services may not be used for unlawful, fraudulent, harassing or unsolicited-commercial purposes; for auto-dialing or artificial voice traffic contrary to applicable rules (including TCPA in the United States and CRTC rules in Canada); or in any way that degrades the network. Breach may result in suspension.
4. Number porting
Porting requires accurate account details with the losing carrier. Timeframes are set by industry process, not by Epcotec. You remain responsible for service on a number until it ports. Ported-in numbers remain portable out on request once account balances are settled.
5. Service levels and liability
Target availability, support windows and remedies are stated in your service order. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Epcotec’s liability for voice services is limited to the fees paid for the affected service in the three months preceding the claim, and Epcotec is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or missed calls of any kind.
6. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as carrier or regulatory requirements change; material changes are notified in advance. Questions: use the contact form.
